Run Wild 2012 & Dim Sum w/Henrik

On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, Sandy and I headed over to Crissy Field to run the Run Wild for a Child 5K race (and burn off those turkey calories!):

After the race, we met up with some folks for a farewell dim sum with Henrik, who's moving to Sydney (g'day, mate!) in December. What is with good friends moving away from SF these days?!?!

Alameda Food Trucks w/ The Ketchesons

Will and I headed over to Alameda to meet up with AAA+L to hang out, one last time before they take off to India for a month and then move to Vancouver....wahhh!

We met up at South Shore shopping center to check out the gaggle of food trucks (Off the Grid) for lunch. I opted for Korean from Seoul on Wheels:

Thanksgiving 2013

Will and I headed down to southern CA for the week of Thanksgiving to hang out with his folks at their awesome timeshare in San Diego County (~Ramona, CA). It's a great annual tradition, we spend the week golfing, drinking wine, eating good food and playing feisty card games.

We flew down to San Diego, and on our way to the timeshare, we grabbed some superb fish tacos by the SD airport at Blue Water.

The weather was fabulous, almost too hot. We golfed 5 days in a row, and my game was all over the place.

Namu Gaji

On Friday night, Will and I met up with Ian and Catherine for a catch-up dinner at Namu Gaji. Namu Gaji is the new-ish place in Mission Dolores that features "new Korean American" cuisine. The new space is gorgeous and we got there in time for some happy hour.

The "real" Korean taco with kalbi short rib, seasoned rice, kimchee salsa, kimchee remoulade, toasted seaweed:

Crispy "puffs" made with potato puree, parmesan, fried garlic, and gochujang aioli:

Tempura (uni, shiso, lemon, market veggies, ginger tsuyu):

Ramyun (handmade noodles, 4505 hot dog, panko crusted egg, housemade kimchee, mung beans):

Pomegranate shaved ice and berry custard for dessert:

Dinner was fantastic and the happy hour was a great deal too. Definitely on a favorite list, but get there early, it's a small place!

Basel Autumn Fair

I headed back to Basel, Switzerland for a week of work in mid-November. It was a great week, catching up with friends and co-workers.

I had some fantastic meals, found some new good eats with Fid and Richa. On the Thursday night, I joined Sophia for some Autumn Fair.

Afterwards, we caught some comedy at the bi-monthly International Comedy Club at Kuppel. We saw Tiffany Stevenson and Rob Deering perform, and both were fantastic. It was such a good time, thanks Sophia!

Ad's Birthday 2012

On Saturday afternoon, Wendy, Will and I headed over to Alameda to celebrate Adam's birthday at their newly-sold home. We are sad that the Ketcheson crew is shortly relocating north to Vancouver (boo!).
