Fishing Day 1

July 5, 2009

There are two things that Will really wanted to do when we were back home in Vulcan: golf + fish (also two of my Dad's favorite things to do).

Will and I had gone golfing on Wednesday morning before the BBQ (I finally golfed the "new" back nine at the Vulcan Golf Course). On Thursday, Will went golfing with my sister while I went for a run. In the afternoon, Will, my Dad, Jack, Olivia and I piled into my Dad's truck and headed down to Little Bow Lake/Travers Dam to go fishing.

We caught a bunch of little fish with minnows as bait, but no keepers (at least 50 cm long).

We headed back to Little Bow park to meet up with Angie, my Mom, and the twins so we could take the twins on a boat ride.

It was a beautiful and fun day on the water, good times. Thanks Dad!

Canada Day, eh?

July 4, 2009

On Tuesday night, Will and I caught a flight back home to Calgary for an extra-long long weekend with my family. My sister's entire family had flown back the day before, and we were descending on Vulcan to hang out and spend some quality time with my folks.

Check out this cute pic of the twins crashed out (their schedules were wayyyy off...):
July 1 is Canada Day, and to celebrate, my folks hosted a BBQ party, with a bunch of my friends from all parts of life (growing up in Vulcan, from UofC, Calgary buds), a buddy of Will's, my sister's high school friends, and of course, friends of my parents.

Thanks to Mom and Dad for hosting such a rad BBQ and to our friends (Sonia + Scott + Sascha + Luka, David, Victor, Donna, Tyler + Leah) for making the trek to come see us in Vulcan!
