Vancouver New Years

January 1, 2012

On New Years Eve, Will and I had a nice mellow day, starting with brunch at Slickity Jim's Chat n' Chew on Main St.  Will still wasn't feel super hot as he was recovering from some type of head cold, so I met up with the Chans to celebrate British NYE (3 PM PST = 12 AM GMT) at the Irish Heather in Gastown.

Later in the evening, Will and I met up with the Chans, Kenny, Abe and Wendy at The Whip for NYE dinner and celebration:

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a fantastic time ringing in 2012!

December 30, 2011

On Friday, Mike and Susan drove Will and I to Nanaimo to catch a float plane via Harbour Air back to the mainland.

Mt. Washington

December 28, 2011

On Tuesday, Will and I went on a little 2.5 hour roadtrip up the island to Mount Washington for a day ski trip.  It was my first time out on the snow this season, and I was especially excited to try out my new Volkl Kiku skis (a sweet birthday/Christmas present from Will!):

It was a good ski hill, though the snow conditions were sub-par. We experienced four seasons in one day (sun, cloudy/wind, rain, white-out snow conditions). We did manage to check out all the ski lifts, including the schmancy moving carpet (that was covered from the elements...way nicer than the tow rope I had to learn on as a little kid!):

It was a fun day, and I'm praying for more snow in the Rockies and Sierras!!
