On Thursday night, there was a small fraction of AFC (me and Key), joined by a new member, Lamine, that went to the famous Dolder Grand for a fine dining experience. The Dolder Grand features a 2-Michelin star restaurant from chef Heiko Nieder.
Amuse bouche assortment:
Lobster from Brittany, marinated, baked, with strawberries, beetroots, tarragon and mustard:
White asparagus with water cress, walnut, egg and caviar:
Line-fished red mullet and squid from Brittany, with peach, lime and smoked almond milk:
Fattened goose liver and rabbit from France with consomme, cream, mango, seaweed and mushrooms:
Veal from Ennetburgen, with stew, chanterelles, Emmentaler cheese and horseradish:
Venison from Austria, pan-fried and braised, with herbs from the garden, sunflower seeds and Angostura:
Rhubarb with grapefruit, yoghurt and ginger:
"Cheesecake", baked with cream, medlar, juniper and sorrel:
Fantastic meal, completely see why it's been given 2-Michelin stars!
