It was a lovely, highly-anticipated, but very wet, long weekend.
On Saturday, Will and I kept it pretty mellow, hanging out at
Crissy Field in the afternoon (he hung out with the beautiful people at the
Warming Hut, and I did a 3-mile loop run). We ordered sushi take-out for dinner, and watched "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist", a cute movie with a great soundtrack.
Early on Sunday morning, a few of us (Wendy, Gail, Sue Hee and Wendy's dad) piled into Wendy's car and headed to Chinatown. Our plan was to run the Chinese New Year 5K/10K run, but it was raining hard and the wind was picking up, not great factors for a fun road race. On the drive there, there was lots of discussion about how crazy it was to try to run in the weather. Sue Hee and I were both registered for the 10K, and the options discussed were: a) not running, b) only running the 5K, c) run the 10K.
In the end, we all opted to run the 10K, which was two loops of the 5K route. The gale force winds along the Embarcadero and the hillier-than-anticipated course were definite challenges. Oy.
I "borrowed" the
event photographer pic of Gail and I during the race below:

In the end, it was a great feeling to finish a race in such horrific conditions. And thankfully, we all had dry clothes to change into. We went for Hong-Kong style tea at Washington Bakery, and then went next door for dim sum at Grant Place.
In the afternoon, Gail, JoJo and I went to check out the furniture stores (new West Elm store!) in Bay St in Emeryville. On Sunday evening, I met up with a bunch of folks at an undisclosed locations to enjoy some of the best dumplings in the city. It's undisclosed at Henrik's request, go bug him if you want to know where...:)
I felt very close to my roots on Sunday, Chinese food all day!!!
On Monday (yay, no work), I headed down to Santa Clara in the afternoon to hang out with Angie and the kiddies.

News flash: Charlotte went pee-pee and poo-poo in the potty! Now, if only Simon would not be so scared of the toilet ("scary nosies!")...
