Kickball For Paul

July 11, 2009

On Saturday morning, I did a nice long 10-mile run with Kelli in the Marina-Crissy Field-Presidio area, getting all ramped up for the Run SF half marathon (less than three weeks away!).

In the afternoon, Will and I headed over to Kimball field to celebrate Paul's 40th birthday with a rousing game of slosh/kickball. Dangereux.

Happy Birthday Paul! Good times!

Ladies' Night at Beth's

July 11, 2009

TGIF! TGFLN! (TGFLN = Thank Goodness for Ladies' Night!)

On Friday night, Wendy, Katharine and I headed over to Beth's place for a little ladies' night action. Great food, good conversation, sweet tunes, tight jeans...what else is there?

Thanks for hosting, Beth!

Family QT...eh?

July 5, 2009

Our last day in the motherland was Sunday. It started with an early round of golf with Will and my sister, Angie. It was a gorgeous morning and I foresee that the Will-Angie golf competition will continue throughout the years to come...

My Mom dropped off Will and I with Donna and her boyf, Dan to have late lunch at Earl's before heading to the airport. So long Calgary/Vulcan, and thanks for all the fish!....well, kind of.

Fishing Day 2

July 5, 2009

On Saturday, in the wee early hours of the morning, Will and I went fishing with my Dad at Little Bow/Travers Dam again. This time, we were prepared to spend some quality time on the water and we were fishing with leeches as bait (referred to by my Dad as "prime rib for walleye").

We had a fun day on the water, catching over 40 fish over 7 hours on the boat. I was close to catching a keeper, but it was 1 cm short. Boo.

Back at the house, we embarked on an relaxed evening of more gluttony and plenty of Wii bowling and tennis. Awesome.

Calgary Stampede...Yahoo!

July 5, 2009

On Friday morning, we all got up early to head to Calgary for the Calgary Stampede parade....Yahoo!!! The Calgary Stampede, the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth" takes place every year over 10 days in early July, featuring rodeo, festival, exhibition and concerts. The city comes alive every year during Stampede, and it's also a good time to take in the free pancake breakfasts that are held all over the city.

My Dad got us bleacher tickets on 9th Avenue, near the end of the parade route, here are some shots from the parade:

After the parade, we went for dim sum at Harbour City and ran errands around the city.
While Angie, Jack, my Mom and the kids went to the Calgary Zoo, my Dad, Will and I did some more errands. But we met up with the family at the zoo:

We had dinner at Cattle Baron (I heart Alberta Beef!) before heading back to Vulcan and pooping out after a pretty long day with the whole family.
