Van-Whistler, Cute Kids, Big Sugar, Afrojack, oh my!

May 20, 2012

Will and I headed up to the motherland (well, the west side of it) for a long weekend to Vancouver and Whistler. We got in on a Thursday night and crashed with Will's bro, John. Emily was on a big family trip to Italy (buono!), so it was just the boys.

On Friday morning, we had some time with the boys, although it was mostly with little-big-man Dexter as James headed off to daycare:

In the afternoon, we headed up to Whistler and met up with Kenny:

Kenny made us a nice meal of bbq'd steak, corn and asparagus. After dinner, we headed to the Whistler Conference Center to catch the big mountain biking movie "Strength in Numbers" and then a couple drinks at the GLC.

On Saturday afternoon, we headed back to Vancouver and over to John & Jasmine's pad for dinner (yum!) and caught up with baby Sascha:

Later in the evening, Double A coerced Will and I to join him and some of his buds downtown to see an "oldie but goodie" Canadian band, Big Sugar, playing live at The Cellar.

Lead singer, Gordie Johnson, with the boys:

For polarity, Double's friend Kenny (yes, another one!) took us to the Vogue to check out Afrojack (a DJ who was banking huge for one show):

It was a big night, thanks to Double and his friend Kenny for a good time and the massive headache the next day.

On Sunday morning, we headed back over John's house to catch up with the boys again:

...before heading to dim sum with my cousins and family...and to meet new baby Saoirse!

In the afternoon, we managed to grab the most amazing and famous Masala Chai at the Granville Chai Company (in Granville Market), and then catch up briefly with Ath and Kristi.

All in all, a super productive weekend, thanks friends and family!
