Fort Funston

On Sunday (only one more day until back to work!!! Ewww....), we went for dim sum at Ton Kiang. I heart dim sum. Turns out the bo-lo-baau at Ton Kiang is pretty darn good...

From dim sum, Will and I joined Key, Sue Hee and Robert for some outdoor time at Fort Funston with Key's dog, Milo. Surpisingly (or not), this was my first time to Fort Funston. It was previously a coastal fort with a missile site (Battery Davis), that is now a beautiful parks conservancy that is a favorite hang gliding spot and dog park.





It was a gorgeous day. It also turns out that Fort Funston is a phenomenal place to check out almost every breed of dog if you're trying to decide what kind of dog to get. Milo was in heaven...





It was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Now the misery of going back to work can settle in...

China Camp

The weather cleared up nicely in time for the ladies (Sandy, Sue Hee, Kali and I) to go for a trail run at China Camp State Park in Marin (close to San Rafael). I've always been a big fan of the mountain biking at China Camp, it's one of the few areas in the Bay Area to mountain bike where it's not an insanely torturous uphill after the next. There are nice rolling trails with great views of the bay.

So, instead of biking, we decided to do a 6 mile trail run, stealing the route from an official trail race route.

After the lovely run, we went for brunch in San Rafael at the Broken Drum Brewery. Yum!

What a fantastic bay area day...

New Year Bowling

On New Years Day afternoon (after some much-needed recovery time from NYE in the morning), Will and I went down to Santa Clara to hang out with my family. Olivia's birthday is on January 8, but we were having an early birthday party with the family while my folks were in town.

To celebrate Olivia's birthday, we all went bowling in Cupertino at Strikes. It was craziness. Nutso. Super fun.














After bowling, we whipped up a Korean BBQ feast (including Kalbi ribs and chap chae), which was a delicious and phenomenal amount of food.

Bye Bye 2008!

On NYE morning, I went for an early run with Sue Hee in the Marina, and then spent the day doing stuff around the house (we're almost completely unpacked!). 

For NYE festivities, we were heading over to Sue Hee's for nibblies, drinkies, socializing, and a little bit of hockey (the pool play game between US and Canada in the World Junior Hockey Tournament was fantastic! I heart hockey!).

Shaun was whipping up a drink (called the Cucaracha?) that required dropping a shot of Kailua and tequila in Corona, pounding it, and then proceeding to get blindfolded and having your head shaken. Here is some video of this fun:

I may or may not have had too much white wine (ouchie, my head), but we definitely had a fantastic time.
