Will and I went to Great American Music Hall on Friday night to catch one of our favorite bands, The Format, in concert. They are a fun indie alternative pop band, whose music has shown up in TV shows and movies over the past year.
With four opening bands and our low tolerance for standing too long, we called ahead to find out that the Format was going on-stage around 11 pm. Sheesh, good thing we called. So, we got there around 10:30 and caught one of the opening bands.
The crowd was a full range of the age demographic, but one theme was in full attendance: couples who like to make out in public. Goodness, it was quite the show.
The band played for about 1 hour 15 minutes, and rolled out all their hits, including my faves "The First Single", "Time Bomb" and "She Doesn't Get It". The lead singer, Nate Ruess, has a really distinct voice and the band sounded really tight in concert.
