On Monday night, I went for dinner at 231 Ellsworth in San Mateo with a bunch of work folks to bid adieu to a fantastic team member (who is moving to another team...boohoo!).
Amuse bouche of cold carrot soup with a pesto oil.
I started with the Hokkaido scallop sashimi, seared avocado, mango, and Ha Tien pepper oil. This was delicious, wonderful, I wanted more!
For an entree, I had the local halibut, sweet corn pudding, roast heirloom tomato, and sautéed summer squash. The sweet corn pudding was amazing with the halibut, and the tomatoes were like candy.
