NOLA - Saturday (Jules & Rob Get Hitched!!)

May 10, 2009

On Saturday morning, Will and I headed out and ended up at another NOLA institution, Acme Oyster Co. for lunch. We had phenomenal timing, as we walked in and got two seats at the oyster bar right away. Shortly after we sat down and were perusing the menu, an impressive line formed outside. Phew!

We started off with a dozen Louisiana oysters shucked and served raw on the half shell. These babies were awesome and huge!
Will had the signature "Fried Peace Maker Po-boy" (stated that it's voted #4 in top ten sandwiches), which includes fried oysters & shrimp, seasoned to perfection, with Tabasco-infused mayo.
I had the smaller portion of the NOLA specialty "Crawfish Etouffee", a robust local favorite seafood in a buttery roux, loaded with plump crawfish tails over rice.

After the awesome lunch, Will and I cooled off in our hotel room and then hit the gym before the wedding.

The wedding (and reception following) was at 7 PM, at the Botanical Conservatory and Garden in the City Park.

After some major eating, some dancing, the "kids" loaded into the party bus and headed off to more good times....

...at Rock N' Bowl! Rock N' Bowl is part rock hall, part massive bar, and part bowling alley, which makes for a wonderful combination and definitely good times.

There's nothing like bowling in your schmancy wedding clothes:

Dismal bowling scores that suffer from bad fashion clash, too many drinkies, and lack of focus:

Back in the bus....
....to Cafe Du Monde for late night beignets!!!

Awesome good times.

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs.!
