Rocco's

August 22, 2009

On Saturday night, Will and I joined Robert, Sue Hee and Adam for dinner at Rocco's Cafe in SOMA. Robert had seen this restaurant featured on TV recently and was on a mission to try it. Originally opened in 1920 by a dude named Rocco (shocking) Coscarelli, the restaurant is now run by his grandson. The restaurant is decorated with historical paraphenilia that documents the loyal following of famous and non-famous San Franciscans over the decades.

To start, I had the Manhattan clam chowder to start (yum!).
For an entree, I chose the Chicken Marsala, which I also shared with Will so I could try his Chicken Parmignana (see below).

Dinner was pretty good and the atmosphere was fun. It was nice to check out a SF food institution that I had no idea about. Thank goodness for TV.
