Mike & Debbie Get Hitched...in the Berkshires!

August 31, 2009

FRIDAY

Will, Wendy and I braved a Thursday night red-eye to make it out to the Berkshires in Western Massachussetts for a weekend of wedding fun with Mike and Debbie. We flew into Hartford, CT, and then after dealing with some flight delays, we drove to Lenox, MA.

We grabbed food at the Old Heritage Tavern, which offered some great afternoon eats to tide us over until the evening's festivities...

That evening, we headed to the Cranwell Golf School, where Mike's folks were hosting the rehearsal BBQ.

SATURDAY

On Saturday morning (after a delicious sleep in!), we grabbed some coffee and then met up with some folks at Haven Cafe in Lenox.

The three of us then got inspired (thanks Jenny!) to go for a run to check out the countryside (especially as the rain had gone away)...We ended up doing a pretty awesome 6-miler that started in Lenox, and looped around some spectacular countryside, including the famous Tanglewood concert site (where James Taylor was playing that weekend).

After the run, we got cleaned up and headed to the Belvoir Terrace, the site of the wedding. Belvoir Terrace is a fine and performing arts girls camp that Debbie attended and worked at in years past.

Trouble...

The wedding was an absolute blast, if you can judge by the awesomeness of the pictures above and the size of my headache the next day...

SUNDAY

On Sunday morning, we were sad to have to pack up our stuff to head out. There was a post-wedding brunch held at the Belvoir Terrace, so we had a chance to catch up with everyone one last time before hitting the road.
From Lenox, we did some touring around in the Berkshires and ended up in Stockbridge, a delightful little town with fun sculptures littered throughout the downtown area...

After walking around Stockbridge, we hit the road in search of a seafood restaurant so that I could address my craving for lobster, and we were lucky to find the Maine Fish Market Restaurant, conveniently located only 10 min from the Hartford Bradley airport...

A tremendous end to the weekend, which seemed to fly by. Thanks to Mike and Debbie, and their families, for their tremendous hospitality over the wedding weekend. We had a blast and I am psyched that we were able to spend some time in the beautiful Berkshires...

Congrats to Mike & Debbie!!!
