Some folks from Katharine's department had the delightful idea of going for martini's tonight, so how could I pass that up?
Katharine chose Martuni's as our destination (a likely choice as it was voted Best Martini 2005 by Citysearch).
So, Kat and I joined the clinical folks: Sutton, Jeff, Shane, Veronica & Linda.

Shane, Sutton & KatAt 9 pm, the piano player showed up and provided some delightful background music, including some old-time Sinatra favorites ("Come Fly With Me", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Luck Be A Lady", etc.)
Some crowd regulars got up to show off their lyrical wares and we tried to convince Shane to sing some tunes, but we were pretty sure that the piano player wouldn't be too versed in any AC/DC songs.

The piano player showing his versatility on tromboneAt 11:30 or so, we decided to be responsible and say "no" to morning misery. As if on cue, the piano guy whipped out "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond...what a perfect way to end the night and leave that damn song in my head until this morning.
