Movin' On Up

October 19, 2008

I have been mostly dreading the arrival of this weekend, as we were finally going to move all our stuff to the new house. The move got a little complicated at first because our movers had accidentally booked us Saturday afternoon, a day that they were closed for an employee wedding. So, they offerred to move us on Friday night with some discounts to make up for the planning snafu. Ugh, Friday night it was.

So, three guys from Corrib Moving arrived on Friday at 4 pm and proceeded to spend the next 3.5 hours "finessing" our furniture and stuff out of our old place and in to the new place. The complicating factor at the new house is that the bathroom renovations are still ongoing, and as such, we had to figure out where to put everything so that it was "out of the way" but in a reasonable place. As you can see from the picture below, we still have our new bathtub and toilet in the living room:

Yup, that's right, no toilet yet. Hopefully it will be installed early next week. Until then, we're shuttling back and forth to the old place (only three blocks away) when needed.

On Saturday night, Will and I headed over to Sue Hee's for dinner, she was kind enough to host dinner, partly in pre-race prep for her and Kali's run the next morning for the Nike Women's half-marathon. Go girls!

Key provided some pre-race cupcakes for good luck from That Takes The Cake:

After dinner, Will and I picked up Shaun and headed downtown to the Elephant and Castle. Why, you ask? Well, our good friends with Zanecrawl were in town for Zanecrawl SF, so we were meeting up with that crew on their last stop, which happened to be at Elephant & Castle. It was great to catch up with Zane, Steve McKenna, Karen, Kristin and Wes, in addition to Rudy, Nancy and Ryan, who were also on Zanecrawl Chicago with us...

Ahh....good times....
